The Process…

When writing poetry Melodie observes the beauty that is nature. Environmental elements fuel her inspiration to relax and inspire the mind with scenic imagination. There is great intention in her work to not contain any conflicts, drama, or scary situations. This is not to say life does not have these moments but she offers a sanctuary from this with her writing. Her characters and events flow in the stream of life rather than against it. She prefers simple imagery and no bright intrusive colors regarding illustrations and overall aesthetics. Melodie does appreciate all the colors in this world. However, occasionally she can find herself overwhelmed when they are highly saturated or grouped close together. Making her works public is a way to recognize those who are also sensory sensitive to absorbing visual and textual information. She writes both for children and adults. In conclusion, she hopes her poems encourage inspiration, observation, and relaxation in regards to the authentically organic planet we live on.
