Rainy Season

Do you sometimes wonder what the flowers know? Like these Rain Lilies I spotted, do you think they like the company they keep? Do they mind that one is a deeper shade of pink than the other? Or would one prefer to grow away from the crowd?

When researching the Rain Lily, it was interesting to learn how they got their unique name. They tend to bloom after heavy rainfall when the Earth is drenched. It’s interesting, it is only when they are at the most extreme levels of water they choose to thrive. They don’t get through just a little or moderate but a lot. Instead of dying they live to the fullest.

I believe some people are these Rain Lilies. It is only when our lives feel flooded that we soak it all up and then decide to burst through the surface of the buried. We take everything in and when the moment is right, at its peak, we let ourselves be known to the world. The cup that ran over fueled us to rush onward to finally get a good look at the sun. So, I suppose it doesn’t matter whose color is the deepest, who is with us, or what is known. Some of us are just pushing through because we hope a light is waiting for us on the other side.
