Oh, d-d-d-dear…

“It is hard to be brave,” said Piglet, sniffing slightly, “when you’re only a Very Small Animal.”

Many of us may get nervous when wandering into an unknown darkened forest while others may get very excited. For me and others like me, we have no idea what to feel one way or the other. Because of this confusion, we can get scared-there is nothing to cling to, nothing to be certain of. So, as a result, some of us may freeze but then just a little bit of courage comes in and helps us move along slowly yet cautiously. Being positive can help us walk forward and encourage us to pretend even though we don’t know what the future may bring. Understanding that we cannot control the future allows that little nudge that can help us let go and only think about the present; just focusing on the process of how we proceed right now as we know it. When these moments happen it is best to notice them. They can allow us to breathe a little.

This little breath helped me create this website with a blog and prepared me to begin writing children’s poetry for the first time. Without the experience it is scary, but I want to try. I want to walk into the unknown forest little by little until it is not so intimidating anymore. Something so big in our heads can seem impossible to get through. But you never know until you try and you never know maybe the forest has been waiting for someone just like you!

Rabbit who had begun to write very busily, looked up and said: “It is because you are a very small animal that you will be Useful in the adventure before us.”– Piglet (A.A. Milne)
